Graduate Visa

A Graduate visa gives you permission to stay in the UK for at least 2 years after successfully completing a course in the UK. You must be in the UK when you apply. A Graduate visa lasts for 2 years. If you have a PHD or other doctoral qualification, it will last for 3 years. You must apply before your student visa or Tier 4 (General) student visa expires. You need to pay the application fee & healthcare surcharge.

You can apply for a Graduate visa if all the following you can prove:

  • you’re in the UK
  • your current visa is a Student visa or Tier 4 (General) student visa
  • you studied a UK bachelor’s degree, postgraduate degree or other eligible course for a minimum period with your student visa or Tier 4 (General) student visa
  • your education provider (such as your university or college) has told the Home Office you’ve successfully completed

UK Fiance Visa

The applicant will be able to enter the UK to marry their UK partner (the “sponsor”) following a successful UK fiance visa. This is only for a 6-month period time and before the expiration of your fiancé visa, you have to apply by submitting an FLR(M). The same process is applicable for a UK proposed civil partnership visas as well.

The chronology and the destination of your UK fiancé visa

First, UK fiance visa for (a 6-month visa), on your second and third application you will be granted 30 months visa each. Your 4th application will be for Indefinite leave to Remain and finally British citizenship.

UK Ancestry

If either of your grandparents was British Citizen and as a Commonwealth national and having a grandparent who was born in the UK, the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man may enter the country for a maximum of five years with a UK Ancestry visa. You can also apply for a UK Ancestry visa if you’re a Commonwealth citizen, a British overseas citizen, a British overseas territories citizen, a British national (overseas), a citizen of Zimbabwe.

You must show that you have a grandparent born in one of the following circumstances:

  • in the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man
  • before 31 March 1922 in what is now Ireland
  • on a ship or aircraft that was either registered in the UK or belonged to the UK government

whether you can claim ancestry if

  • you or your parent were adopted
  • your parents or grandparents were not married
  • You cannot claim UK ancestry through step-parents

You may come to the UK on a Skilled Worker visa with an approved employer. This visa has replaced the Tier 2 (General) work visa. It also allows you to work in UK waters. Short-term study visa

A Short-term study visa usually to study English language courses in the UK, lasting longer than 6 months and up to 11 months. You must be 16 or older to apply for your short-term study visa. An extra 30 days may be included on your stay as long as your stay is no longer than 11 months. If you’re under 18 you must also:

  • have made arrangements for your travel and stay in the UK;

EU Family Permit

One can apply for an EU Settlement Scheme family permit to come to the UK if S/he is either:

  • the family member of someone from the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, or Liechtenstein
  • the family member of an eligible person of Northern Ireland

Family Permits of EU Settlement Scheme are also available to non-EEA citizens who intend to join a close family member who is a naturalized British citizen or an eligible person of Northern Ireland, or to families of British citizens who have lived with that British citizen in another EU country prior to December 31, 2020.
